News from Paul Wheatley BACP, Counsellor

Paul WheatleyHello, my name is Paul and I am a qualified male psychotherapist and counsellor and a full member of the BACP (British association of counselling and psychotherapy). My aim is to offer a confidential, ethical and professional service to adults aged 18 and over. A professional service that is also very caring and encouraging.

I am currently operating in Quarry Bank at the Library Therapy centre. You can self refer to me and we can arrange a confidential informal session to find out if my therapy can help you.

I have seen clients from all areas of the West Midlands both male and female from all different background, social classes and age groups.

I operate in a new, comfortable and well equipped centre with easy parking, a centre which offers many other therapies and facilities for people. I offer short term counselling from six sessions, or open ended longer term counselling which will continue until you feel ready to stop.

I welcome everyone, and will aim to help you find your own way of living your life in a more complete, satisfying and resourceful manner, that offers you what you want. I treat every client as an individual with unique personal qualities and goals.

How do I work?

I work with the wholeness of the individual. Through my extensive training in the Person Centred approach and Gestalt approach to counselling, I am able to facilitate change in the individual and help them to re-discover all aspects of themselves. I am an integrative counsellor who will use theories that best suit you the client.

Part of my commitment when I work with you is to raise your awareness to areas of your life that require your attention. By heightening your awareness; You develop insight into the areas that brought you into therapy and understand how you can improve your current situation, without this you could be left feeling really stuck in life. Through your increased awareness, you can make choices. During sessions you will notice the importance I place on building an authentic, warm and trusting relationship. I am keen to understand how you’re impacted by your experiences and I will usually share my own response to what you bring. Gestalt sessions are often lively, creative, challenging and profoundly enlightening. Imagine having someone genuinely interested in YOU and committed to helping you live the life that you choose.
